A man was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and dangerous driving after the truck he was driving ploughed into a house in Great Yeldham.

Police were contacted shortly before 7.30pm on Friday (20) with reports of an accident involving the silver Mitsubishi pick-up truck and a green Audi A3 in Poole Street in Great Yeldham.

The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.

Two men aged in their 20s sustained serious but not life-threatening or life-changing injuries, for which they received treatment at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford.

A 23-year-old man from Halstead was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and dangerous driving causing serious injury.

He has been bailed pending further enquiries to January 11.
