Haverhill police stand-off: detained man taken to hospital




A man detained by police this afternoon in Haverhill has been taken to hospital after the incident.

He was captured by police after a long stand-off developed when officers arrived to arrest him at an address in Pleasant Close this morning.

The stand-off lasted about three hours until the man was finally taken by police.

He has not yet been formally charged with any offence.

A police spokesman said a short while ago: "The managed in his 30s has been taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge by ambulance.

"He was not injured during the incident or during his detention."
