Motorcyclist dies in A143 road crash near Highpoint Prison




A man died yesterday after crashing his motorbike on the A143 in Stradishall

Officers were called by the ambulance service at about 10.10am to reports of a single vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on the A143 near to HMP Highpoint Prison.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 50s, received medical treatment from paramedics but was sadly declared dead at the scene.

The road was closed in both directions of the A143 to allow an investigation into the circumstances of the collision to continue.

Members of the public that required access to HMP Highpoint Prison were advised to approach the site from the north (Bury St Edmunds).

The road remained closed for several hours and motorists were advised to find an alternative route.
