The body of a man discovered in Stoke-by-Clare has been formally identified as missing person Mark Stanbridge.
The 36-year-old was reported missing after last being seen on the morning of Wednesday 22 April in neighbouring Clare.
Police were called at 6.15pm on Monday, May 4, by a member of the public who reported finding a body in woodland, close to Maple Hill.
At the time of his disappearance Mr Stanbridge was wearing a dark green jacket, dark trousers, black shoes and was carrying a backpack.
Police at one stage received a report that he had been spotted in Ashdon.
Mr Stanbridge’s death is not being treated as suspicious and a post mortem examination has taken place.
A file is now being prepared for the coroner and an inquest will be held in due course.
