Thousands of pounds worth of maritime equipment has been stolen.

The gear, worth £2,550 in all, was stolen from a boat that was in a secure part of a farm in Turnpike Hill, Withersfield.

The equipment, which included a Yamaha four-stroke auxiliary engine and a gold and blue Suzuki DT40 outboard engine, was taken between 4pm on March 8 and 4pm on March 15.

Other items that were taken include a set of floating rescue ropes, a small tool box, a nautical first aid kit, a hand-held spot light and a carton of unused flares.

Anyone with information on this crime is asked to contact Haverhill police on 101, quoting crime reference HH-15-590.
