New face at Suffolk police

Suffolk Constabulary has appointed a temporary Deputy Chief Constable to join the ranks of its Chief Officer team.

Stephen Jupp has been selected to join the Constabulary following a recruitment process, Mr Jupp is currently Assistant Chief Constable at Nottinghamshire Police, where he has overall responsibility for crime investigation and reduction.

He will be filling Gareth Wilson’s role while he continues as temporary Chief Constable while Chief Constable Douglas Paxton remains on sick leave.

Mr Wilson said: “Stephen is an officer with a wealth of experience, having service with the Metropolitan Police, West Midlands Police and, currently, Nottinghamshire Police.

“I am delighted that Stephen is joining our Chief Officer team and I am confident that he will make a significant contribution to helping us transform our organisation to meet the financial challenges ahead while keeping Suffolk safe.”

Mr Jupp is expected to join Suffolk Constabulary during April.
