One rescued after car gets trapped in ditch

A person has been rescued by the fire service having become trapped in a car following an accident.

The incident took place at 1.14pm on Monday, April 20 in Folly Road, Hundon.

Fire Control received an emergency call from Ambulance Control to assist at a road traffic collision.

A car had left the road and entered a dry ditch. One casualty was reportedly trapped inside the vehicle.

To achieve the required number of fire service personnel on scene, four crews attended from Clare, Haverhill, Wickhambrook and Long Melford.

Stabilisation and medical care was carried out. The casualty was released by the fire service into the care of ambulance personnel by 2pm.

All fire crews had left the scene by 2.26pm.
