Spate of catalytic converter thefts, including one in Haverhill, prompt police call for vigilance




Police are urging vigilance and appealing for information after a number of thefts of catalytic converters from vehicles in Suffolk recently including the Haverhill, Ipswich, Newmarket and Bury St Edmunds areas.

At some point overnight on Wednesday, January 8 the catalytic converter was stolen from a Toyota Yaris while it was parked outside an address in Pipers Close, Haverhill. Crime reference: 37/1603/20

Catalytic converters were also stolen from vehicles in three locations in Ipswich during the evening of Monday, January 20 and from car in Springfield Avenue, Bury St Edmunds on January 17.

In Newmarket, catalytic converters were stolen from a Lexus in Exning Road on January 7 and a Honda Jazz in Freshfields between January 7 and 8.
