The commanding officer for the Haverhill Salvation Army Church has thanked the people of the town for their generosity over the Christmas period.
Captain Valerie Morgan said the generosity enabled the church to provide Christmas dinner to those who would “otherwise have spent the day alone.”
On Christmas Day the congregation sang carols and were served tea and coffee by the mayor of Haverhill, Cllr Betty McLatchy and were entertained by a local singing trio, Ocean Range.
Father Christmas also visited and gave a small gift to everyone. Cpt Morgan added: “Thank you to everyone who contributed and especially to our team of willing volunteers who cooked and served us.”
