Hundon and Thurlow primary school pupils put the miles in - and some - for a good cause

Pupils, parents and staff from the Hundon and Thurlow Primary Federation cycled, walked, ran or scootered 350km between them last Thursday to raise money for the charity, Young Minds.

The distance travelled shattered the initial target of 100km, a total that honoured the 100th birthday (celebrated that day) of fund-raiser Captain Tom Moore.

More than £780 has so far been raised, well over the £100 target set.

Kat Feakes, a teacher at Thurlow Primary, said: "We are amazed by the amount of support we have had from families and the local community.

"The distance travelled is incredible as we weren't sure if we would even make 100 km.

"We are overwhelmed and would like to thank children and families for their brilliant efforts."
