People living at Cleves Place care home in Haverhill have been keeping a weather eye out for their feathered friends by taking part in the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch. The home in Millfields Way, run by Care UK, has installed bird feeders and bird tables for clients to enjoy and, despite poor weather on their bird watch day, there were numerous conversations about birds. People recalled birds they had rescued and those that had frequented their gardens. They also chatted about the home’s resident parrot Nico who often joins in the conversation. Home manager Sharlene Van Tonder said: “Bird watching can be a valuable reminiscence activity, with birds and their songs evoking memories.”
