Robbery in Ipswich

Police in Ipswich are appealing for witnesses after an elderly man had money from his wallet stolen by two men.

The incident happened along Hadleigh Road in Ipswich (between a café and cycle shop) at around 10.30pm on Boxing Day (Wednesday, December 26).

As the 72 year old man was walking along the road he was approached by two men walking towards him.

One of the men got him into a headlock and demanded money from him.

The man took his wallet from his pocket and gave it to them.

One of the men took cash from the wallet before throwing the wallet back at the gentleman.

The two men then ran off up Hadleigh Road.

The first thief is described as mixed race, five foot seven inches tal1, 25-30 years old and of stocky build.

He had dark collar length Afro hair and wore a black waist length bomber jacket.

The second thief is described as black, 25-30 years old, six ft two in tall of broad build with receding shaved hair and he wore a black thigh length coat.
