Rotarians in Haverhill played Santa and raised money for Rotary charities and good causes.
Members of Haverhill and District Rotary Club took to the streets with Santa and the Round Table’s sleigh and collected £1122 for the charities.
The intrepid group also raised £491 for an ebola appeal and £800 through a sponsored walk in aid of Polio Plus.
Member Mike Morris said: “The club would like to thank all those who turned out and contributed both young and old.
“Grateful thanks are also due to Haverhill Round Table for the hire of the sleigh.
“In the autumn, the club held its annual sponsored walk in aid of Polio Plus.
“The club has supported this cause for a number of years as part an international Rotary effortwhich has also involved the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
“The purpose is to eradicate polio worldwide once and for all.
“This has largely been successful although there are areas where the disease is still endemic and it has proved impossible to complete the campaign because of violence in the areas in question including the murder of volunteers involved in the carrying out work there. “
Mr Morris added:“The walk raised over £857 and, as ever, the club would like to thank all those who contributed to this worthwhile cause.”
