Tim Coulson, chief executive of the Unity Schools Partnership of which the academy is a founder member, added: “I would like to congratulate all students, staff, parents and the school community for playing their part in these successful results.

“We wish the young people every success as they go onto the next stage of their lives.”

Kevin Geall, head of sixth form, at Samuel Ward Academy, said: “It is an incredibly exciting time for the sixth form. With our current Year 12 students on course to excel, I expect more record-breaking student achievement in the very near future."
