Police are appealing for information following a spate of attempted burglaries from garages in Haverhill.

Offenders attempted to break into six garages in the town this week although nothing was stolen.

The incidents occurred between 5pm and 7.10pm on Tuesday July 5 in Squires Court, between 10pm on Monday July 4 and 6am on Tuesday July 5 in Squires Court, between Friday July 1 and Tuesday July 5 in The Causeway and between midday on Monday July 4 and 11.30am on Wednesday July 6 in Warwick Court.

The final two attempted burglaries took place between Monday July 4 and Tuesday July 5 in Windsor Terrace and between Thursday June 30 and Wednesday July 6 in Bishop’s Court.

Police are asking anyone who spotted suspicious activity in the town at these times to call 101, reference 37/42827/16.

Police have advised the public to be vigilant and to make sure their garages are properly secured.

A spokeswoman said it was a good idea to fit high quality bolts to either side of the garage door to prevent thieves bending it upwards and gaining access.
