Councillor Anne Gower has given £1,000 from her locality budget to the scanner appeal which is being run by Cllr Betty McLatchy.
The appeal aims to raise money for the purchase of two pieces of ultrasound equipment that can be kept in Haverhill.
This will mean that pregnant women will be able to have a check up in their own homes.
“The money came from my county council budget,” said Cllr Gower. “It is such a good thing because our health and wellbeing is a priority. We do not have the equipment or the facilities in Haverhill.”
