An exhibition about the Sturmer Local History Group is on show during April at Haverhill Arts Centre aat the request of Haverhill and District Local History Group.

Leaflets for the Sturmer Steps heritage trail by the groups heritage boards are regularly replenished and it is holding another Victorian classroom re-enactment and handling session for Stanley Drapkin School in June.

The group has also researched names on the village war memorial for the WW1 centenary. Articles on these will continue to be published in the next few editions of the village magazine.

A survey has been carried out of St Marys Church, Sturmer that found some examples of ancient graffiti and the group hope to republish the church guide for all households in the village this year.

For its autumn event the group took 16 people to visit the newly refurbished Colchester Castle Museum and it hopes to visit Dedham and the Munnings House in September.

Its annual meeting will be on June 25 in Sturmer Village Hall.
