Workshops in Haverhill take computer game design to a whole new level
A series of computer game design workshops aimed at 13 to 16 year olds were held in Haverhill Arts Centre last week.
The three sessions, which ran from Monday, August 20 to Wednesday, August 22, saw the teenagers split into groups and tasked with designing their own microgames and controllers, before testing out other groups’ creations.
Guest speakers from the gaming industry also attended to give advice on how to pursue game design as a career.
Michelle Brace, project co-ordinator, said: “The kids really really enjoyed the project immensely and said they learned lots of new stuff. It was great to see the creations they all came up with over the three days.”
