Ten youths driven back to Cambridge by police after Haverhill confrontation

Ten youths were driven back to Cambridge in police vans on Friday (January 25) after 60 to 70 of them gathered in the town centre.

Police were called at 7.13pm amid concerns that the group, around Ehringshausen Way, Jubilee Walk and High Street, had swollen upwards from ten, and there were suggestions they had weapons.

Police served section 27 notices to the Cambridge ten, ordering them to leave the area, and drove them back.

Problems arose on Facebook as Haverhill youth had been dating a girl from Cambridge, and then there was a fallout between the two groups of youths.

No arrests were made, there was no violence and nobody was injured, although a dumbbell was found discarded nearby.
