Thaxted’s Racing Mamas do London to Cambridge run
Amy-Jo Simpson and Lindsay Smith, who call themselves the ‘Racing Mamas’ are living up to their nickname by running 100Km from London to Cambridge on July 2.
Amy-Jo is running for the Bone Cancer Research Trust and Lindsay is running for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, both in memory of their dads, who died in the last year.
Amy-Jo, 35, from Boyton End, Thaxted is a personal trainer, television presenter and mum of two who has run marathons and taken part in other challenges including SAS Ultimate Hell Week on BBC2 last year.
After losing her father to cancer, she wanted to do something to raise money for the Bone Cancer Research Trust and thought this the perfect event.
Lindsay, 38, who lives in Cornish Hall End, has three jobs, three voluntary roles and ais lso mum of two, says she did not feel she was busy enough. So after completing the Moonwalk marathon a couple of years ago and thinking there had to be a bigger challenge she is about to embark on this epic journey.
