A monthly free entry music night set up in Haverhill to allow local bands to show what they can do has proved so popular that groups are already booked up until the new year.
Totally Wired @ The Bull (the pub in market square) is staged on the third Saturday of every month.
With the next one due this weekend (17) the man mainly responsible for starting the enterprise, Matt Plumb, from Haverhill band This Broken Empire, has expressed his pleasure at how well it has been received so far, but wants more people to know about it.
He said: “The nights so far are already proving popular with crowds as well as the bands and artists.
“We have already seen a few Haverhill bands playing at our nights, along with up and coming touring bands from all around East Anglia and London.
“There was a multitude of reasons for wanting to set up the night, the most important being that we are the only night in town that delivers original new and upcoming bands as opposed to club nights and cover or tribute bands.”
In about a decade of playing the East Anglia/London circuit, This Broken Empire has only played in Haverhill a few times, but the Totally Wired nights have helped change that for them and other artists from the region, while also boosting their networking chances.
