Haverhill’s triathlon returns on Sunday, October 4 and with an inaugural duathlon also on offer organisers are hoping that it will prove even more popular than last year.
There are two distances available for HaverTri – the Adams Harrison Triathlon, with the Sprint comprising a 400 metre swim, a 23 kilometre cycle and a 5km run, and the Sprint+ a 600m swim, a 45km cycle and a 10km run.
The duathlon follows a similar format, with the Sprint a 5km run, 23km cycle and 3km run, and the Sprint+ a 10km run, 45km cycle and 5km run.
The race is organised by HaverSports, which has raised around £22,000 for charities with races including Haver10 – the Sanofi 10k, and HaverHalf – the JMP Furniture Solutions Half Marathon.
HaverSports director Jack Tappin said: “The triathlon was very well received last year and we’ve had strong take up again this year, proving the popularity here of one of Britain’s fastest growing sports.
“The two distances available make HaverTri suitable for either novices or veteran athletes, so I look forward to a wide variety of athletes joining us next weekend to celebrate triathlon and duathlon in Haverhill.”
