Campaign boards and placards for UKIP have been damaged and knocked down in Haverhill.
Councillor Tony Brown said: “I think it’s one or two individuals.
“We live in a democracy. I wouldn’t dream of doing this to someone else’s boards.
“If people have a different opinion, let’s debate it.
“Unfortunately, a small minority of people are trying to close down debate.
“It’s a shame. The boards are just there to inspire people to vote and get involved. The same thing happened last year in the European elections.”
