Haverhill businesses Recycle Your Tec and NICOM IT Services combine to raise money for the Kedington branch of the Royal British Legion

Two businesses in Haverhill have teamed up to recycle people's unused technology and at the same time raise funds for charity.

NICOM IT Services, in Queens Square and Recycle Your Tec, in Hollands Road, are using their know-how to take in the unwanted or forgotten tech and turn it into money that can be used by the Kedington branch of the Royal British Legion (RBL).

Nick Rutter, owner of NICOM, explained: "I felt the idea of working with Recycle Your Tec to do something for the RBL was just a great way to get people to empty out their cupboards of technology that's not being used.

"We thought it would be an excellent way to raise money for the British Legion."

The two businesses already work together, but have now extended that partnership to include a charitable scheme.

A day is being held at the British Legion Hall in Kedington on Sunday, February 3 between 10am and 2pm for people to drop off any tech equipment that they no longer want.

Items that are accepted include laptops, desktops, tablets, printers, scanners, mobile phones, games consoles, TV’s and monitors, cables, mice and keyboards.

Computer hard drives can be securely wiped or the data copied to a USB or disc, as required.
