Up to £5,000 in funding available for community projects in Haverhill

Grants of up to £5,000 are available for projects which could improve opportunities for people in Haverhill or improve the physical environment of the town.

Groups and organisations can apply for funding from a special grant pot, made available to ONE Haverhill by St Edmundsbury Borough Council.

Applications must demonstrate that the funding will make a real difference to the people of Haverhill, have clear objectives and plans for the project and how they will measure its effectiveness.

Applications are considered from groups which fulfil at least three or more of the following key criteria:

Provides significant benefit for people in Haverhill; Provides value for money; Promotes health and wellbeing; Promotes Community Involvement; Supports local solutions to meet local needs; Promote community cohesion/inclusion;

Works in partnership with others; Provides matched funding; Provides Evidence of Sustainability.

Application forms and criteria can now be downloaded from www.onehaverhill.co.uk/community-grants. Previous applicants can apply.

Completed application forms should be sent to ONE Haverhill Grants Scheme, Haverhill Arts Centre, High Street, Haverhill, CB9 8AR by Monday, June 1 at 10am.

Sarah Howard, chair of ONE Haverhill Board, said: “These grants make a real difference to the community groups that receive them and I want to thank St Edmundsbury Borough Council who fund the grants scheme for their continued support.

“By giving ONE Haverhill this pot of money we can ensure that it is targeted at local projects in our town that make a real difference.”

ONE Haverhill is an independent partnership that is bringing organisations and resources together to make them more effective and efficient in the town.
