Members of Haverhill’s Royal British Legion and Air Cadet Squadron have been tidying up and placing poppy posies on the graves of WWII casualties in Haverhill Cemetery.

The work is in readiness for the 70th anniversary of VJ Day on Saturday (15) and for a guided walk at 3pm on Sunday (16) by Haverhill’s Family History Group and the RBL.

The walk will feature the life stories, some by relatives, of the 12 Haverhill servicemen who died in the Far East, many as Prisoners of War.

The walk is free but donations to the Poppy Appeal are welcome.
