Warning after house burgled

Police in Haverhill have warned residents to be on their guard against leaving windows or doors open in the warm weather after a house in Kirtling Place fell foul of a burglar.

The house was entered by the burglar just before 5am on Sunday August 10 after they reached through a small, open ground floor window to open a larger window and get into the property.

Although they were disturbed by an occupant of the house they got away with cash, a mobile phone, bank cards, an army knife.

PCSO Lorna Chapman urged residents to make sure their windows and doors and are not left open at night.
