Warning as fishing gear taken from shed

The theft of a large amount of fishing gear from a shed has prompted a warning from police.

Fishing rods of various makes and assorted tackle and reels worth £600 was taken from a shed in Castle Lane.

A flotation jacket worth £125 and a box of fishing paraphernalia were also taken.

The incident occurred between 12.30am and 1am om March 1.

Sergeant Matthew Gilbert said: “We want to tell people to keep their sheds locked and make sure anything valuable within is also locked or made secure.

“Garages have also been targeted. If anyone sees anything, they should report it.”
