Two councils have launched a new online facility to help people locate details about services on offer.

St Edmundsbury Borough and Forest Heath District Councils have created the ‘Find my Nearest’ service on their website.

It helps residents track down a wealth of information including bin collection days, nearest health services and the cloest recycling points.

Cllr Robert Everitt, cabinet member for families and communities at St Edmundsbury, said: “This is a brilliant service that brings local authority services not just to your doorstep, but through the front door and to the comfort of your laptop, tablet or smartphone.

“What is more, we are already working to make this new service even better. The next stage of Find my nearest will give the option to those reporting a problem, to click on a map and ‘stick a pin’ to show the precise location - making it easier not just for our residents but hopefully for our staff who are trying to resolve the issue.” Visit www.westsuffolk.gov.uk
