West Suffolk Hospital confirms death of seventeenth patient with coronavirus




A West Suffolk Hospital patient with coronavirus has died.

The patient was in their 80s and had underlying health conditions.

Dr Nick Jenkins, medical director for West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patient’s family and loved ones at this difficult time."

It takes the total number of coronavirus related deaths at the hospital in Bury St Edmunds to 17.

At Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Addenbrooke's Hospital, there have been 32 deaths since the start of the outbreak.
