Join the ever popular Centre Stage Company when they return to the Arts Centre with THE VICAR OF DIBLEY from Thursday 19 to Saturday, March 21 at 7.30pm with a matinee at 2.30pm on Saturday. Geraldine Grainger is a vicar with a difference. In her own words, a babe with a bob-cut, a magnificent bosom, and a rather irreverent attitude to religion. Geraldine’s arrival is met initially with a mix of wonder and horror.
Meet them once again as Geraldine battles to win over the power tripping head of the parish council, David Horton and become part of the congregation for Hugo and Alice’s wedding!
On the cinema front juggling some angry Russians, the British MI5, his impossibly leggy wife and an international terrorist, Charlie Mortdecai, debonair art dealer and part time rogue, traverses the globe. With a cast including Johnny Depp as Mortdecai, MORTDECAI (12A) is showing on Friday, March 13 at 7.30pm.
Events to look forward to include a recorded broadcast of Hamlet with Maxine Peake on Monday, March 23 at 7pm from the Royal Exchange Theatre, United We Stand from Townsend Productions, an account of the 1972 Builders’ Strike on Wednesday, March 25 at 7.30pm and a live broadcast from the National Theatre of A View from the Bridge on Thursday, March 26 at 7pm.
