Businesses in our towns and villages have been pulling out all the stops to prepare for Christmas, thinking about what they might offer that sets them apart from the major chains and online stores.
Not only that, but the shopping environment locally will cheer the soul with lights and decorations adorning shops and putting everyone in the Christmas spirit.
It is not just last minute gifts that shopping locally can satisfy. Consider picking up some Christmas meat, treats and snacks locally, or why not release some of the stress with a cup of coffee or glass of wine or beer at one of the local pubs and cafes.
Haverhill Echo editor Catherine Turnbull said: “Shopping locally can not only boost the locally economy, but also be a
thoroughly enjoyable experience.
“Taking advantage of good customer service and seeing those individual items you would never find online via a search engine is very satisfying.
“Not only that but so many local people, businesses, councils and others work so hard to try and make this a prosperous Christmas for all, that it would be a shame if shoppers did not opt to experience what we have on our doorstep.”
Happy Christmas to all our readers and advertisers.
