Ridgewell Primary School pupils take the silent approach to boost charity

Two Year Four children at Ridgewell Primary School came up with their own ideas to raise funds for the recent Red Nose Day by having a sponsored silence.

Jocelyn Wix, nine, raised £108 by asking family, friends and teachers to sponsor her. Tula Benwell, also nine, managed to raise £25.

Their efforts helped the school to raise a total of £203.

Natalie Muggeridge, a teacher at the school, said: “For such a small rural school this is a super amount. We are very proud of these two girls and their thoughtfulness.

“It took a lot of time and effort and we really appreciate it. What fantastic role models.”
