MARSHALL HATCHICK TWO COUNTIES CHAMPIONSHIP

DIVISION TWO

Dunmow 158 lost to Haverhill 292-7 by 134 runs

A sparkling century by opener Dan Pass - his first in Marshall Hatchick Two Counties cricket - and five wickets from skipper Joe Woodley proved central to a thumping win for Haverhill.

Pass put on 147 with Adam Dellar (72) and 68 with Dan Poole (24) as Haverhill compiled their biggest score of the season.

The 20-year-old all-rounder smashed 20 fours and one six before falling for 142, the highest score in Division Two so far this season.

Poole (10-2-28-3) and Woodley (11.3-1-49-5) ripped through Dunmow’s top order, with the skipper removing the dangerous Oli Rooney for 27 and Poole trapping the equally threatening Luke Swanston lbw for six.

Dunmow’s lower order showed some grit to take the score beyond 150, largely thanks to skipper Paul Reid’s 56, but Haverhill comfortably won the match to remain in second place ahead of their important trip on Saturday to fourth-placed Easton, who are just five points behind them.
