Aerocycles and Haverhill Cycling Club’s mountain biking team got to experience an Olympic venue when riding in round four of the Mud, Sweat and Gears series.

The newly-opened Hadleigh Park track, which staged races for the London 2012 Olympics, provided a challenging setting for the Haverhill riders.

In the veterans category, Nick Ainsworth had a six-lap battle to gain another third-place podium finish, while team-mate Steve Foster managed to do four laps after suffering a big crash on his practise lap.

Haverhill’s Oliver Skyrme claimed seventh in the under-9s category, while Austin Ainsworth took fifth, four-year-old Eva Ainsworth finished seventh and Alan Gardner completed the course in 11th.
