Rovers’ manager Michael Shinn welcomed the news. “This is great for the club,” he said. “It proves that we are moving in the right direction with our youth policy.

“The coaches here have done a great job over the last few years, and I am lucky to have inherited such a good group of players, who have a good attitude and good ability. They are a pleasure to work with.

“Most of them have come through from the under-12s, and it is great to watch them.”

Other players in the squad are: Ryan Yallop (Bury Town), Jamie Hilton (Mildenhall Town), James Baughurst, Stefano Mallardo, Wayne Blackman, James Axcell (AFC Sudbury), Jake Dye, Will Crisell, Taylor Bannister, Tobie Stollery (Needham Market), George Mrozek (Hadleigh Utd).
