Whitton United scored a second-half equaliser to deny Haverhill Rovers all three points as they drew 1-1 at the New Croft on Saturday.

The point lifted Rovers two places to 12th and takes their unbeaten run in the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division to four games.

Rovers took the lead thanks to striker Ty Alleyne’s third goal in seven league matches just before the break.

Whitton levelled five minutes into the second period thanks to Reece Ingram’s shot, but neither side was able to find a further goal as the match ended all square.

Rovers are next in action with a league match at home to Swaffham Town on Saturday (3pm).

Haverhill Borough were without a match in Thurlow Nunn League First Division on Saturday because their scheduled opponents, Kings Lynn Town Reserves, could not use their ground due to their first team having a home tie in the FA Cup.

Borough’s next league match is at Ely City on Saturday (6pm kick off).

In the Kershaw Premier League, West Wratting were without a game, while Linton Granta remain at the foot of the table with just one point and no win in seven league matches so far after a 3-2 defeat at home to Over Sports.
