Haverhill Borough saw an early lead cancelled out before withstanding strong second-half pressure to earn a battling point.

Jon Milne headed home Harry Halls’ 11th minute corner after it was flicked on by debut-making Chris Thomas to put Borough one up.

Wayne Proctor had already squandered two one-on-ones for Stowmarket before he levelled from close range on 43 minutes.

There were no further goals in the match as Borough - who were without a number of first choice players - held Stowmarket at bay for the draw.
