THURLOW NUNN LEAGUE

FIRST DIVISION

Great Yarmouth Town 1 Haverhill Borough

A controversial second-half penalty was all that separated fourth-placed Yarmouth from fifth-placed Borough after 90 minutes.

The penalty was awarded on 69 minutes by the officials after what appeared to be an accidental off the ball collision between Gareth Thomas and Darren Cockerill.

Connor Deeks converted the spot-kick to give Yarmouth the points and leave them three points behind third-placed Saffron Walden Town, with a game in hand and a superior goal difference.
