Haverhill Borough squad is looking stronger
Haverhill Borough go into their game with Braintree Town Reserves on Saturday (3pm) with its healthiest looking squad for some weeks.
Borough’s form over recent weeks has been up and down, in no small part due to an injury list that has shown no signs of easing off, although other factors have played their part.
Winger Owen Longley has been plagued by a stomach muscle injury for months but came through their 2-1 defeat at Kings Lynn Town Reserves two weeks ago with no reaction and is fit for Saturday.
In a further boost, midfielders Ben Bradley and Anthony Fernandez are available for the next three matches having returned from university.
Lee Hurkett, Jon Milne and Ryan Weaver (one match ban) all missed that Kings Lynn defeat but are now available again but full back Ash Drew is banned for one match.
Having overcome a back and knee problems, mercurial midfielder Aaron Forshaw has now been struck down with glandular fever but may return in late January.
With The Iron’s reserves arriving at the New Croft in 13th, eighth from top Borough should be favourites to take all three points.
Borough manager, Ben Cowling, said: “We need three points. We need to keep in touch with the top six and keep ourselves ticking over.
“Our primary aim is to finish in the top ten and get in the FA Cup but we want to finish in the top six and the Christmas period will go a long way towards seeing where we finish.”
