THURLOW NUNN LEAGUE

PREMIER DIVISION

Haverhill Rovers 0 Kirkley & Pakefield 5

The sterling work put in by Haverhill Rovers to clear snow from the pitch and get the match on may have been regretted by some after they crashed to their second biggest home defeat of the season.

On a quagmire of a pitch the visitors - whom Rovers had held 1-1 in north Suffolk just three weeks earlier - went ahead through Ross King on 28 minutes before Ross Gilfedder added a second three minutes later.

Matthew Brown’s 15-yard shot put them 3-0 up on 66 minutes before Ian Hunter grabbed two in two minutes in the final five minutes of the 90 to complete the scoring.
