Haverhill’s Proffitt bags silver medal at Regionals

Haverhill swimmers Hannah McNaul, Beth Edwards and Alex Proffitt all impressed at the Regional Youth Championships earlier this month.

The Haverhill trio were among 19 swimmers representing West Suffolk Swimming Club during the three day event, which saw teams from Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex, Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire competing for medals.

Proffitt took home the silver medal in the 200m butterfly after swimming under two minutes and 10 seconds for the first time.

McNaul achieved seventh in the 100m breaststroke, sixth in the 50m breaststroke and eighth in the 200m butterfly.

Edwards took sixth place in the final of the 50m dash, before teaming up with McNaul to claim eighth in the relay.
