Haverhill’s trip to the leaders is abandoned


Haverhill Cricket Club’s scheduled trip to Mildenhall fell foul of the weather on Saturday.

The Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship Division One leaders were due to host Haverhill at the weekend, but the match was abandoned due to the bad weather.

Both teams were awarded six points which leaves Haverhill in ninth place.

n The rain also intervened in Haverhill II’s home clash with Little Bardfield Village in Division Three.

Andrew Argent (1-19) dismissed Little Bardfield opener Peter Bray for eight runs to reduce the visitors to 32-1.

Martyn Wilkins (2-29) then took the wickets of Peter Stone (17) and Alan Kemp (zero) as Little Bardfield slipped from 59-1 to 61-3.

Harry Harding (1-10) claimed the wicket of Matthew Graham (three) before the rain returned and forced the match to be abandoned with the visitors on 86-4.
