Haverhill clinched the Division One title in the Adams Harrison Midweek Cricket League last night (Wednesday) with a six wicket victory at Saffron Walden.

The hosts scored 112-6 in their 20 overs, with Dan Pass the pick of the Haverhill bowlers, taking 3-23.

In reply, Sam Powell scored 26 and Dave Humphrey 46 as Haverhill reached their target with five balls to spare.

With just two games to play, Haverhill have 145 points against second-placed Walden’s 97, and with a maximum 20 points available for a win their lead is unassailable.

So far this campaign, Haverhill have won seven and lost just one of their eight matches. Their only defeat came at home to Fulbourn.
