Jones tops the pile in Men’s IFF Challenge

Haverhill Golf Club’s Men’s IFF Challenge was played last Wednesday, with Brian Jones the overall winner after scoring 38 points.

Dan Wilkins was the Division One winner on a count back, with Lyndon Brown matching his tally of 36 points, and Peter McLennan finishing third on 34 points.

Jones claimed the Division Two title, ahead of Richard Norden (36) second and Roger Hartley (35) third.

Ian Andrews won Division Three with 36 points, with Keith McCallum (31) and John Goddard (30) completing the top three.

n Haverhill Ladies’ captain Shelia Price was proud to recently present a cheque for £1,582.65 to Teresa Strange of Diabetes UK Eastern at Haverhill Golf Club.

Price said: “I’m extremely pleased by the amount raised during the year through various fund-raising activities. Thank you to all the members at the club for their continued support.”

n Haverhill’s Andy and Lynn Fish won the Four Ball Better Ball Competition at the Suffolk Winter Alliance meeting held at Ufford Park last week.

The husband and wife pairing finished on 41 points, and won a countback ahead of Sam Ward and Jason Finbra, after scoring 23 points on the back nine.
