Head coach Martin Hughes wants Haverhill Rugby Club to finish their league home campaign in style against Cambridge IV on Saturday.

Should Haverhill win the encounter at Castle Playing Fields (2.30pm) it would leave them in a two horse race with Saffron Walden IIs for a third-placed finish in the Greene King IPA Eastern Counties League Division Two West with just one match to go - at Saffron Walden II on April 4.

Hughes, whose side won the reverse meeting at Cambridge IV 52-12 on September 13, said: “Seeing as we have not played for a while I’m hoping we can get a good turn out and play the last home game.

“We had a good training session on Tuesday so we will just see what players we have got.

“We had them in the league and cup and beat them comfortably in both and I’m confident we will get a full side out on Saturday and finish on a high.”

Some experienced, key players such as top try scorer, outside centre Adam Hunt and Chris Flannery are expected to play their part in the match.
