Penalty shoot-out woes for Haverhill Borough Reserves

Haverhill Borough Reserves missed out on an appearance in the Suffolk Senior Reserves Cup Final after losing their semi-final with Hadleigh United Reserves on penalties.

Borough were twice ahead in the match but after the game was tied 1-1 after 90 minutes and 2-2 at the end of 120 minutes they lost out 5-3 on spot kicks in the match at Cornard United’s ground.

Rod Gaffan’s side went 1-0 ahead in first half stoppage time through Paul Jenkin.

Hadleigh levelled in the second half only for Borough to go 2-1 up through Blake Kicks at the end of the first period of extra time.

Another Hadleigh leveller forced the shoot-out, which went their way.
