Rovers back at Stow for their cup final clash

Haverhill Rovers are back at Greens Meadow next week to play Brantham Athletic Reserves in the final of this season’s Suffolk FA Senior Reserve Cup, sponsored by Days Sports.

Rovers beat Woodbridge Town Reserves 2-1 after extra-time in the semi-finals of the competition, which was played at Stowmarket Town’s Greens Meadow ground at the end of February.

The final was due to be played on March 23, but Haverhill had several players involved in the Suffolk Under-18s on the same day, so the match has been rescheduled for next Wednesday (7.30pm).

Haverhill’s route to the final has involved two games which have gone to extra-time, but they began their cup run with a 4-1 win at Long Melford Reserves back in September.

A 4-3 triumph away at Westerfield United Reserves booked their place in the last eight, where they beat Wenhaston United Reserves 2-1 after extra-time.
