A 12th goal of the season from Matt Staines earned Haverhill Borough a point from their trip to March Town United on Saturday afternoon.
The home side started the match well and took the lead in the seventh minute when Borough lost possession and Odain was put clean through.
The striker made no mistake, confidently slotting into the right hand corner from the edge of the box for his third goal against Borough this term.
Much like the cup encounter 10 days earlier, the game saw plenty of attacking intent from both sides as Borough grew into the match.
Midway through the half, the away team hit the crossbar as Forshaw’s cross was sliced by a March defender with Beeny struggling to cover the ground.
In what was a good spell, Borough came close again when a passing move ended up with Swallow finding Longley in the box, but his shot was deflected away for a corner.
On 35 minutes, the Borough defence was caught out again as Odain raced through.
However, as the striker tried to round Turner, he had a heavy touch that took the ball away and he went over the sprawling keeper, yet the referee waved played on.
Five minutes later it was Borough’s turn to be claiming for a penalty as Halls’ free kick into the box struck a March defender on the arm, but again the official decided against awarding a spot kick.
March started the second period well and nearly extended their lead as Matless hit the outside of the post.
The game then swung in Borough’s favour and several chance were created, the best being when Swallow burst through with a 40-yard run before drawing a good save from Beeny.
The pressure finally told, though, as a loose ball broke for Staines and he lashed in from close range midway through the second half.
Haverhill Borough: Turner, Geoghegan, Hardwick, Watson, Bluett, Forshaw, Longley, Halls, Bone, Swallow, Staines.
