MARSHALL HATCHICK TWO COUNTIES CHAMPIONSHIP

DIVISION FOUR

Abberton 185-2 beat Haverhill II 181 by 8 wickets

Haverhill dropped out of the top two after being comprehensively beaten at Abberton.

The visitors struggled early on, finding themselves 23-4 after six overs.

Sam Hartshorn (30), Joey Kettle (50), skipper Greg Street (24) and Richard Partridge (25) helped take the total along to 181 all out in the 43rd over, but the score was below par for a good wicket.

Will House (10-0-48-4) and Craig Scott (6-1-15-4) took the bowling plaudits for the hosts.

Abberton openers Sam Trussler (78) and Aaron Trussler (42) put on 90 for the first wicket and despite another good display from 14-year-old spinner, Harry Harding, who took 2-30 off 12 overs, with 12 runs coming off his final over, Haverhill were unable to stave off the defeat.

The result leaves Haverhill II in third place, just two points behind second-placed Hadleigh II and just two points in front of fourth-placed Tuddenham, whom they play at Manor Road on Saturday (1pm).
